Lisa and I are originally from Louisiana. I went to seminary in Texas and then spent ten years as a pastor in Colorado and Iowa. We moved up to Anchorage to pastor Grandview in 2000.
Alaska was forever imprinted on our hearts when Lisa and I served as summer missionaries in 1980, and again in 1982 and 1983. It was 17 years later that we answered the call to move to Alaska. It is a privilege to serve at this church in such a beautiful state, knowing God has called us here.
We both enjoy fishing and hiking together, and we cheer for LSU and the Saints. Lisa is a very talented musician and enjoys playing the piano for our services and entertaining people in our home. We enjoy visiting our two grown boys and their families in Texas. Time with the grandchildren is especially precious.
Minister of music & youth
I joined the team at Grandview in July of 2019 after Abbie and I moved from Waco, TX.
I am originally from Tennessee graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor in Music Education. I later received my masters in Biblical counseling. I have worked as a music teacher, worship leader, minister of young adults, and youth Bible study leader. My passion is for discipleship.
Abbie and I were married on August 5, 2017. Abbie loves working with children and has a heart for supporting young moms. In our spare time, we enjoy musicals, superhero movies, and singing a variety of music.
I have been on staff at Grandview as a part-time children’s minister since August of 2015. My husband Scott and I moved to Anchorage from Spokane in the summer of 2014. Since then, God has added three kiddos to our family. Discipling these three little people is my greatest calling.
I was raised as a missionary kid in Ecuador and was called to children’s ministry at the age of twelve. I taught 5th grade and ESL for 5 years before coming to Grandview. My passion is developing a strong Bible foundation for children and encouraging them to follow Jesus.
We love living in Alaska & serving in our community. Scott coordinates the monthly men’s breakfast, teaches the Faith Builder’s Sunday school class, and helps teach children’s church. We enjoy hiking, snowmobiling, visiting local playgrounds, dip-netting, fishing, and foraging berries and morel mushrooms.
