What We Believe
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs
the Bible is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16)
God is one God, presented in three personalities, but without division of being.
God the Father reigns over all creation (Psalms 47:8, 89:7, 93:1)
He is all knowing, all powerful, all loving, and all wise
He directs the course of history according to His grace
God the Son is presented in the person of Jesus Christ, who
was born of a virgin (Luke 1:34, Matthew 1:18, Isaiah 7:14)
lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22, Hebrews 4:15)
died an innocent death (1 Corinthians 15:3)
conquered death by His resurrection ( 1 Corinthians 15:4)
will return to this earth to take His church to live with Him in heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
made atonement for our sins through the shedding of His blood (Hebrews 9:12)
God the Holy Spirit
inspired holy men of old to write the Bible (2 Peter 1:21)
exalts Jesus Christ in all things (John 16:14)
seals us to the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30)
comforts and empowers believers (John 14:6, Acts 1:8)
bestows spiritual gifts for the strengthening of the church (1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
Salvation is by grace through faith and is essential for eternal life, as well as for church membership (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Baptism is by immersion in water and, while not essential for salvation, is an act of obedience to Scripture (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-4) and therefore is necessary for membership in this church.
